This is an interesting post not so much on Donald Trump, but--like it says--the spirit of the times that makes a Donald Trump appear to be a viable and believable candidate in the first place.

In other words, this is about "the worst of times" for a democracy.

When I linked this article, Trump was just getting started and the writer pretty much "got it" by suggesting Donald was riding the zeitgeist.  As we have seen in the past year, the Dems were smug and ignored what used to be their core constituency--blue collar America--again. But Trump is part of a a global wave. Check out what professor Mark Blyth says about "Global Trumpism" on You Tube.  It puts things into a more comprehensive perspective.
