This is an interesting post not so much on Donald Trump, but--like it says--the spirit of the times that makes a Donald Trump appear to be a viable and believable candidate in the first place. In other words, this is about "the worst of times" for a democracy. As we have seen in the past year, the Dems were smug and ignored what used to be their core constituency--blue collar America--again. But Trump is part of a a global wave. Check out what professor Mark Blyth says about "Global Trumpism" on You Tube. It puts things into a more comprehensive perspective. |
