Title: Democrats Feel the Bern
Post by: et on November 08, 2015, 12:52:56 pm
The Third Way wing of the Democratic Party (which gave us the Clintons and Al Gore and others) is concerned about the swing back toward its roots in Liberalism.  Of course it will not utter the word, preferring Progressive as a tolerable label.  But here is what they are saying:

From the Guardian
“There is no question that the prevailing temper of the Democratic party is populist: strongly sceptical of what we like to call capitalism and angry about the perceived power of the monied elite in politics,” said PPI president and founder Will Marshall.

“But inequality is not the biggest problem we face: it is symptomatic of the biggest problem we face, which is slow growth.”

The PPI is the Progressive Policy Institute. Democratic think-tank.

Mr. Marshall goes on to call Sanders and now Hillary Clinton (of all people) giving in to "feel good politics" by bashing the wealthy and corporations.

Really?  It is not about inequality?  Really?

Mr. Marshall is why Democrats are losing and why people are suffering. And I also notice he has yet to provide any solutions consistent with his own hypotheses.
