Newt is caught in Rachel's spotlight. She exposes him as the con-artist that he is.  She does an excellent job, but I have an additional thought.

When Gingrich and all his Republican ilk broadcast their crappy "invitations" to rub with his elbows, they are doing more than inviting the gullible to dine with the man.  Gingrich is doing what the 1% elite have always done when talking in dogwhistle-language to other dogs. It's this:  inviting their more saavy brethren to pony up corporate dollars and the poker-playing wealthy to do the same  in order to certify the legitimacy of the scam enterprise to begin with.  And they will.  Grover Norquist and the Bass Brothers and the Koch Brothers and Karl Rove use the gullible--the folks who haven't the time or inclination to understand what is in their own sensible self-interest--to mask the purchase of political influence.  It is an old game, but it is has been teched-up far beyond the mass-mail days of Ronald Reagan and the Eagle Forum.

Put another way:  How do the folks at the country club know each other?  (Answer: they know each other from the country club and from the membership list of those who pay for access to it.)

And who do they turn to first when they have a pet project? (Answer: those folks down at the country club who have paid their fee-for-admission.)

And why is country club for members only? (Answer: to keep out the rif-raff who cannot pay the price of admission.)

Now, please, don't tell me the Constitution was written exclusively for the members of the country club. I am certain they would argue it was never the case, but they do so with a nod-and-a-wink at one another down at country club.

I love this description of Gingrich, mainly because it describes not only him but the entire Republican CLown Car of Candidates:

A more serious examination of why anybody in their right mind (or left mind for that matter) would never want a Gingrich presidency:
