Repeat what have Republicans given us? I really don't know. Is their someone who could tell me?
Even if Republicans gave us gun rights, why are they always complaining about the same issue. And if they are so strong on being anti-abortion why do we still have so many abortions after eight years of a Republican ticket? Did they make any advancements in even these two lukewarm areas?

Republicans don't "give" you anything. They sell it to you one slice at a time.

Compare that to McCain. Most of Obama's abscences were on procedural votes, he wasn't really needed on that.

When I made my statement-and I agree that Pelosi and Reid failed-I was talking overall, not just a brief time period. I can think of a few things.

The Teddy Bear............

Roosevelt was the first American president to consider the long-term needs for efficient conservation of national resources, winning the support of fellow hunters and fishermen to bolster his political base. He was the last trained observer to ever see a passenger pigeon, and on March 14, 1903, Roosevelt created the first National Bird Preserve, (the beginning of the Wildlife Refuge system) on Pelican Island, Florida. He recognized the imminent extinction of the American Bison and co-founded the American Bison Society (with William Temple Hornaday) in 1905. Roosevelt worked with the major figures of the conservation movement, especially his chief adviser on the matter, Gifford Pinchot. Roosevelt urged Congress to establish the United States Forest Service (1905), to manage government forest lands, and he appointed Gifford Pinchot to head the service. Roosevelt set aside more land for national parks and nature preserves than all of his predecessors combined, 194 million acres (785,000 kmē). In all, by 1909, the Roosevelt administration had created an unprecedented 42 million acres (170,000 kmē) of national forests, 53 national wildlife refuges and 18 areas of "special interest", including the Grand Canyon. The Theodore Roosevelt National Park in the Badlands commemorates his conservationist philosophy.

Republicans first gave us sh*t with sugar on it.  Then the back of their hand.  And then the bill for services rendered.

teddy was also a leader of the progressive party, back when it was a bi-partisan movement.

are republicans taking note of this?  cuz i'm all for republicans being more progressive.  so far, they keep playing their old tune of neo-conservativism, and acting incredibly partisan, lately.

what have the republicans given us?  i dunno, joe the plumber?  two on-going wars, two on-going genocides, two billion-dollar bailouts, two stolen elections, and two on-going clean-ups from two horrible disasters.

at least we got double for our money, eh?

Reaganomics, Trickle-down economics and trickle-down theory

Deregulation, a term which gained widespread currency in the period 1970-2000, can be seen as a process by which governments remove, reduce, or simplify restrictions on business and individuals, often ostensibly with the intent of encouraging the efficient operation of private markets, but also with the intent of opening up new areas of trade for speculators. The practice is generally supported by right-leaning politicians and neoliberal economists and businesses, and heavily criticized by other economists, as well as community activists (especially but not only in the left political spectrum and the anti-globalization movement) who charge that the removal of regulations can lead to negative outcomes such as removed protections for workers and consumers, ecological damage and anti-competitive practices by large market players unrestrained by regulation.

History of regulation
Many industries in the United States became regulated by the federal government in the late 19th and early 20th century. Entry to some markets was restricted in order to stimulate and protect the initial investment of private companies into infrastructure to provide "public" services, such as water, electric and communications utilities. With entry of competitors highly restricted, monopoly situations were created, necessitating price and economic controls to protect the public. Other forms of regulation were motivated by what was seen as corporate abuse of the public interest by businesses already extant, such as occurred with the railroads following the era of the so-called robber barons. In the first instance, as markets matured to where multiple providers could be financially viable offering similar services, prices determined by competition were seen as more favorable than those set by regulatory process.

One problem that encouraged deregulation was the way in which the regulated industries often controlled the government regulatory agencies, using them to serve the industries' interests. Even where regulatory bodies started out functioning independently, a process known as regulatory capture often sees industry interests come to dominate those of the consumer. A similar pattern has been observed with the deregulation process, itself often effectively controlled by the regulated industries through lobbying the legislative process. Such political forces, however, exist in many other forms for other "special interest" groups.

US Corporate Elite Fear Candidate Edwards
http://www.pdamerica.org/articles/campaigns/2008-01-12-07-30-57-campaigns.php
I love it how history repeats itself. The answers to several of our problems of today are in our past. Americans have a short memory, me attitude. Americans are like sheep in their mind set.

Sheep are prey animals with a strong gregarious instinct, and a majority of sheep behaviors can be understood in these terms. The dominance hierarchy (in humans: social hierarchy). Its natural inclination to follow a leader to new pastures were the pivotal factors in it being one of the first domesticated livestock species. All sheep have a tendency to congregate close to other members of a flock, although this behavior varies with breed. Farmers/US Corporate Elite exploit this behavior to keep sheep together on unfenced pastures and to move them more easily. Shepherds/Corporate Lobbyist may also use sheepdogs/Politicians in this effort, whose highly bred herding ability can assist in moving flocks. Sheep are also extremely food-oriented/Money, and association of humans/Careers with regular feeding often results in sheep soliciting people/Corporate Elite for food/Money. Those who are moving sheep may exploit this behavior by leading sheep with buckets of feed/Money, rather than forcing their movements with herding.

Lets remember kenshin that the bail outs for the banks and the auto industry is what the dems wanted and voted for in majority. Also remember, Obama wanted this and asked Bush for this so how is it all the republicans fault I don't know. The war in Iraq I never agreed with. The war in Afghanistan is something Obama wants to continue on with, 30,000 more troops and I do think that should of been our concentration to begin with.

Here is something from days ago they gave us:

Abraham Lincoln was a Republican, and freed the slaves. Now some will say all Lincoln did was issue the "Emancipation Proclamation" which ONLY affected slaves in Confederate territory that was conquered subsequent to that order. It had no effect on any slaves held in any other territory that was under federal control at the time, because the Presidency had no such power.

The Republicans enacted the laws that (on paper) gave Blacks citizenship, voting rights, and reconstructed a destroyed Confederacy.
It was Republicans that supported Lyndon Johnson's Civil Rights Acts of 1964 and 1966! Not the Dem's
It was State and Local Democrats that instituted "Jim Crow" laws to keep Blacks as Sharecroppers and denied them voting rights with literacy tests between 1865 and 1968!

And on this day let's remember Martin Luther King. He to was a republican.

Order No. 11 was the most drastic and repressive military measure directed against civilians by the Union Army during the Civil War. In fact, with the exception of the hysteria-motivated herding of Japanese-Americans into concentration camps during World War II, it stands as the harshest treatment ever imposed on United States citizens under the plea of military necessity in our nation's history.

Issued August 25, 1863, by Brigadier General Thomas Ewing, Jr., commander of the District of the Border, with headquarters at Kansas City, Order No. 11 required all the inhabitants of the Western Missouri counties of Jackson, Cass, and Bates not living within one mile of specified military posts to vacate their homes by September 9. Those who by that date established their loyalty to the United States government with the commanding officer of the military station nearest their place of residence would be permitted to remove to any military station in the District of the Border or to any part of Kansas except the counties on the eastern border of that state. Persons failing to establish their loyalty were to move out of the district completely or be subject to military punishment.

General Order Number 11

Headquarters
District of the Border
Kansas City, Missouri
August 25, 1863

First, ___ All persons living in Jackson, Cass and Bates Counties, Missouri, and in that part of Vernon included in this district, except those living within one mile of the limits of Harrisonville, Hickman Mills, Independence and Pleasant Hill and Harrisonville, and except those in the part of Kaw Township, Jackson County, north of Brush Creek and west of the Big Blue, embracing Kansas City and Westport, are hereby ordered to remove from their present places of residence within fifteen days from the date hereof. Those who, within that time, establish their loyalty to the satisfaction of the commanding officer of the military station nearest their present places of residence will receive from him certificates stating the fact of their loyalty, and the names of the witnesses by whom it can be shown. All who receive such certificates will be permitted to remove to any military station in the district, or to any part of the State of Kansas except the counties on the eastern border of the State. All others shall remove out of the district.

Officers commanding companies and detachments serving in the counties named will see that this paragraph is promptly obeyed.

All grain and hay found in such district after the 9th of September, next, not convenient to such stations, will be destroyed.

Third, ___ The provisions of General Order No. 10 from these headquarters will be at once vigorously executed by officers commanding in the parts of the district, and at the stations not subject to the operations of paragraph first of this order, especially in the towns of Independence, Westport and Kansas City.

By order of the Brigadier General Ewing,

Another Order No. 11
A Near-American Holocaust of 1862

While Missourians were about to suffer under their infamous Order No. 11 in August 1863,  there was earlier Order No. 11 issued by General Ulysses S. Grant in December of 1862, which expelled all Jews from Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi.

GENERAL ORDERS No. 11
HDQRS. 13TH A. C., DEPT. OF THE TENN.,
Holly Springs, Mississippi
December 17, 1862.

The Jews, as a class violating every regulation of trade established by the Treasury Department and also department orders, are hereby expelled from the department within twenty-four hours from the receipt of this order.

Post commanders will see that all of this class of people be furnished passes and required to leave, and any one returning after such notification will be arrested and held in confinement until an opportunity occurs of sending them out as prisoners, unless furnished with permit from headquarters.

No passes will be given these people to visit headquarters for the purpose of making personal application for trade permits.

By order of Major  General  U. S. Grant:

J A. RAWLINS,
Assistant Adjutant-General.

December 17, 1862: Grant Issues General Order No. 11 Against the Jews
On this day in history... December 17, 1862, Union General Ulysses S. Grant issues General Order Number 11, expelling Jews from areas of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Kentucky.
http://hnn.us/blogs/entries/45459.html

Grant, Lincoln, and General Order Number 11
Expelling Jews has long been associated with European pogroms. The concept that Jews should be removed (or killed) is not something that is thought of as a part of American history. But it has happened. General Grant, under the auspices of the Lincoln Administration, did indeed order an expulsion of Jews.
