It seemed like it lasted forever. I thought it was pretty boring, nothing real noteworthy, but it was fun to dress in togas, eat Greek salad, olives and grapes and crown ourselves with laurel wreaths. Well fake gold holly. Guess they toned down the temple bit and I was disappointed that he walked on to the stage vs. the earlier reports of his entrance. Of course, that looks a lot better, so a wise move. The fireworks seemed a bit much, particularly the ones from the stage vs. the ones outside the stadium.

I confess I fell asleep! LOL I am glad though that Penny found it enlightening and that she is now comfortable with him as the nominee. I will try and catch it on you tube.

I still think it was beautiful, fireworks and all and the stage was pretty to except for that window behind him and the other speakers and to see 85,000 in attendance all for a political figure which never has been seen before.. It seemed to me the crowd was in all awe. Sorry Penny, I didn't know you decided before the show, I would think that would do it for some others.

No idea what you mean. Decided on Obama? No, that's incorrect Marline.
I decided on Obama last night.

I thought the speakers came across better in the smaller venue of the convention center myself. It seemed better for TV than the stadium did. The speakers seemed more powerful and closer to the people.

I didn't know that Penny and it's okay we all have to vote who we feel is better for our country. In the mean time with Sarah Palin I truly need to learn more but in the mean time I wish you lots of luck to you and your candidate of choice.

Is this the true ending of the Democratic Convention. I sincerely doubt that these flags got sold to Team Obama in Hefty bags. And let's try to parse this story down with some common sense: * Why would a manufacturer provide a refund on open product? They certainly couldn't resell them, especially not after being left like this at Invesco. * 12,000 flags must have cost at least $2,000 or so, and probably more. Once Democrats discovered the "theft", why didn't they report it to the police? It's been more than a week apparently since they were "stolen", and Team Obama just discovered it? * Leaving material in and around dumpsters, especially in Hefty bags, makes it look like trash. That's hardly a way to store American flags, and it's certainly not a way to keep janitors and waste management people from taking them to landfills." "McCain supporters said the flags were discovered by a vendor at Denver's Invesco Field after the conclusion of the Democratic National Convention. The vendor supposedly found trash bags full of flags in and near garbage bins, and turned them over to the McCain campaign. Boy Scouts were sorting through 84 bags of flags in Colorado on Saturday, before a McCain supporter had veterans distribute them to the audience."

I'd rather hear what McCain and Obama are going to do about poverty than wrap myself in the American Flag and weep. Even the reporter says "it really doesn't have a great deal to do with issues," but it's the Fox News Network so of course they waste air space.
While veterans under bridges are starving. Oops, oh no, not that...Bill-O can tell you about veterans under bridges, not John Edwards.
